Doing a share split does nothing for liquidity as liquidity describes the degree to which an asset or security can be quickly bought or sold in the market without affecting the asset's price. All a share split of say 10:1 does is increase volume 10 times but the value of shares traded each day will stay unchanged as the SP will be reduced to 10% of what it was before the split. If I have $10k to invest it makes no difference if I am buying 10,000 shares @ $1 or 1,000 shares at $10 - people invest a fixed sum of money, not seek to acquire an arbitrary number of shares. The only time a share split could potentially increase liquidity is when say a single share costs perhaps more than $1000 so could be a barrier to entry to a small shareholder to buy a single share.
