No need to worry about expensive electricity when GMC needs to purchase FeSi at US$1600/tonne just to make MC FeMn. IF GMC ever does manage to produce any FeMn it will be the FeSi producers who'll be making the huge profits. OMH production cost price on FeSi is US$800/tonne so you can easily see who'll be making the big profits and it definitely won't be GMC.
Theres no way that GMC can ever produce FeSi competitively themselves as it takes 7000KWh to produce 1 tonne. This is where cheap power really comes into play.
The method that GMC will utilize to produce one tonne of MC FeMn will require 0.43 tonnes of FeSi.
I doubt whether GMC will have enough money in the bank to even buy 2 or 3 weeks supply of FeSi to begin production.
Two 7 KVA furnaces if up to the job should be able to produce 40 tonnes of MC FeMn /day at this rate GMC will need to purchase $1 million worth of FeSi just to kick off production.
