Helps us understand the process - that it's more than just being about grades. Eg
''Core logging is the systematic recording and measuring of as much information as possible/required to determine:
1) the lithology (rock types),
2) mineralogy,
3) potential geological history,
4) structure and alteration zones
(All done) through a tiny piece of cylindrical rock drilled and removed from a potential mineral deposit."
