Anxious shareholders are expecting a big day for junior Victorian gold explorer Nagambie Resources (NAG.ax), with the scheduled release of its latest quarterly report.

In recent months Nagambie's geologists and management have been working on the beginnings of a significant drilling campaign targeting a cluster of four highly prospective sulphide gold anomalies in the vicinity of its historic gold mine at Nagambie, some 140 kilometers North of Melbourne.

The expectation is that the report will include assay results from the first hole drilled in this campaign - going some 750 metres down into the Nagambie anomaly - plus early drilling analysis from the Cahill target.

Will these results confirm the high expectations of the IP testing?

Could they possibly lead to the company becoming a major player in the gold sector like it's neighbour at Fosterville, where recent discovery of bonanza-grade gold has resulted in the production of some 250,000 ounces of gold in the past year?
