I have just got off the phone with ASIC and I am not a happy chappy.
They advised me that they are still 'looking into' enquiries made by me (&/or other parties!) and cannot give me any answers at this stage.
I specifically asked if all of the issues raised by BIRD CAMERON had been resolved and the person was only prepared to say that they still had not finished their enquiries! (and that did not specifically relate to my question)
JM has advised us that all issues raised by BC with ASIC have been resolved!
The response that I have received from ASIC makes me think otherwise BUT they are not prepared to say ANYTHING one way or another - so I am suspicious that matters have not been resolved.
ASIC are not prepared to give a time frame for a response (initially they advised of a 28 day turnaround - that I had to follow up on 2 days over the time given by them) and when I asked next week, next month or next year the person said they cannot give a time frame and that the issue will take as long as it takes to resolve.
They can report issues to the government but not to those making enquiries.
The only way to do something is to contact your local member. (my statement)
When I said that the company might fold before we get an answer I was advised to ask the questions at the AGM.
I said that I couldn't trust the responses from the directors and that the indication that ASIC still hadn't resolved all the previous auditors queries (by non comment) confirmed my distrust.
