Yes GMCG, it's an old issue which has been investigated thoroughly by many other competent institutions including the World Bank, the UN, the Western Australian Supreme Court and the Australian Federal Police, and others, all which found that Anvil did not have a case to answer.
Various World Bank and UN supported protocols are in place to deal with situations that may arise with the DRC Armed Forces, Government, etc.
Additionally Anvil has accepted the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) (www.eiti.org) which sets a global standard for transparency in the oil, gas and mining
industries, with the aim of making natural resources a benefit to all. EITI is a coalition of governments, companies and civil society and sets a standard for companies and governmentsto publish and disclose monies paid and received.
I wonder if RAID and these other NGO's are as transparent in their Corporate and Social Governance as Anvil and others are?
This is nothing more than a blatant money grab by lawyers.
