Perth-based Gondwana Resources (ASX: GDA) has announced recently completed exploration drilling at the Zeus Prospect within the Parker Range in Western Australia has returned high grade gold mineralsation.
The best intercepts include 8m @ 14.82 g/t Au from 6m depth in drill hole 09ZERC002, including 5m @ 23.04g/t from 8m depth.
The aim of the drilling was to confirm an historic intersect of 6m @ 3.83 g/t Au.
Gold mineralisation is within a quartz veined metasediment and is structurally controlled. The drill program was formulated to confirm mineralisation thickness and grade from previous drilling.
The company is currently planning a follow-up drill program to infill this shallow, high-grade mineralisation. Infill drilling on 25m line spacing will assess continuity of mineralisation along strike and deeper holes will test open mineralisation at depth.
This drilling program will commence at a date to be advised shortly, with further gold assay results from recent drilling expected in due course.
