RGM is seeking a backdoor listing via struggling ASX-listed biotech company Biosignal. It hopes the listing will lead to film production opportunities, and its plan has the support of the board of Biosignal, which would become RGM Media. But objections by Japanese Biosignal shareholders -- who want to acquire the patents -- are threatening to disrupt a vote on the restructure at Friday's general meeting.

The molecule at the centre of the row was identified by University of NSW scientists. It prevents bacteria from communicating and thus forming harmful colonies that can overwhelm a host.
