Okay sharps, part two. As you have voiced strong opinions about me I think I deserve a right of reply.

I think you are a decent, committed and intelligent person but continually minimise and mute the voices of women, except when it suits your politics. It's not that you're an active misogynist, it's just female narratives hold little interest and you tend to slide right by them.

It's no accident that you quote Samantha Geimer when, tired of Polanski's rape framing the entire narrative of her life, she forgave Polanski (and got $500,000 from him...eventually). You ignore the voices of the other women that still accuse him though, because that's not convenient. And you champion Assange, and continually slide by or minimise the possibility that those two women were subjected to unprotected sex without their consent, and that is a serious offence under Swedish law, and that what Assange did was utterly wrong and possibly a habit of exerting power and control over women.

And hey, like Pasolini and Polanski, Assange is tackling the big questions isn't he? So those women are just a distraction to you it seems.

Like tigmeister, you also have a patriarchal habit of showering fellow posters with links from lacklustre socialist "experts", demanding we read them, and disapproving like someone's dad when a comrade disappoints you. It makes you just a more intelligent version of a Breitbart, Zero Hedge or Fox numbnuts who posts a video link and says, "there, that's what I think!"

It reminds me of the old days on a union site, where the young blokes would come in and the union guy would demand they read his socialist pamphlets and learn historical materialism. Of course they couldn't because it ultimately makes little sense, so they would be lectured and lectured and lectured by the older alpha male union heavies.

Like Trump and the authoritarians do on the right, on your old socialist authoritarian left the little people ("the masses") are hammered into place not by Socratic discussion and debate but by relentless pressure and activism.

They are pushed into the shape of a patriarchal pyramid. They're still down the bottom. And up the top, just the same as on the Right, sits the alpha male. Ultimately, even though I know you are personally good hearted and ethical, your political aim is no more worthy than that of the Trump supporters.
