Despite the ludicrous conspiracy theories and scornful blather of some of our less-evolved members, your PM has done exactly what needed to be done in the wake of this tragedy.
She recognised that it rocked the nation to its core and that the vast majority of Kiwis empathise with a community in shock and grief. She showed the proper respect for that and is attempting to bring comfort to them and reassurance to the country as a whole.
Amending the gun laws to reduce the likelihood it could happen this way again was absolutely the right step. Regardless of any other opinions of her politics, she's handled this exactly as a nations leader should.
Being a fanatical Wallabies supporter, I can only extend my expression of support until late September, when RWC 2019 begins.
