Cold called management today wishing to discuss the company and their plans. Some notes here.
IPO
Some larger institutional positions liquidated from the open. Seems to have washed out short-termers now.
Listed options - said that was part of the offer to create further liquidity for the company should they become “in the money”. It’s a common structure for micro-caps.
Aim is to grow the business to a $200 mcap in the next couple of years. Market growth looks strong. Agree lots of work to do.
Sales and Contracts
Smaller sales won’t typically be announced, only more significant or strategic sales. UUV seem to announce around one thing every two weeks.
Markets
Energy - Traction in the energy industry. Potential for multiple orders. Happy clients e.g.: Duke Energy, BP Alaska
Aquaculture - market is huge. Lots of interest. Potential for large companies to bulk purchase and deploy globally if tech is accepted
Defence – older products were initially added to GSA Schedule. In April, the newer products were added to GSA Schedule. Addition to GSA schedule makes it very easy for government bodies to make purchases.
Multiple channels for sales into defence sector but usually through RFPs. Discussions underway with larger players on potential partnerships to sell larger quantities to the military (note Jay Cohen on UUV board)
Law enforcement – tricky market. Lot of them struggling with budget cuts and might have to be individual sales initially.
Distribution
Currently in negotiations with distributors (outside US) to start distributing in these markets. Some are relatively mature relationships with product in hand. Should drive better sales if and when live
Product Development
Consumer Drone – aim is to make it fun, user friendly and easy to carry etc. to ensure there is continual use. Initial designs from WIT partnership should be ready by end of north-American summer.
Sales and Marketing
More hires to be made in sales and BD.
Durval and others attending lot of tradeshows to generate leads (they seem to be busy looking at all the events they have attended in the last 3-4 months).
M&A, strategic partnership discussions ongoing. Normal part of business for this team.
Overall, the impression I got was that the lack of cash was holding the company back and now that they are adequately funded, they can now ramp up.
