I'm perplexed that you've 'lost a few hundred thou', and got sucked in by something in an email from someone who has no vested interest in your financial well being. You can always find someone to blame Directors/Advisors/Rampers/God(s)/Adverts

End of day, you pressed "Buy"

Personally, I put 50 odd k in, because it could have given me some bags. I put another 10-15 or so k in chasing down my average. I should have cut my losses at 0.3/0.2 and got some notional amount back. None of those were the particularly wise decisions.
