How are you all, I am back once again with yet another praise for Apollo, (I know I know I am trying to breathe life into this stock but I strongly believe Mars Aurora has what it takes to replicate the success that defined Sandfire resources and its Doolunga Prospect. I have been doing some digging and if you refer back to the announcement from 9 years ago when they first started doing the RAB drilling at Doolunga they had intersected gold and after this they carried out the surface sampling in 2008 and started the reverse circulation drilling in 2009 in April and made the big copper and gold discovery in the glorious month of May.
- Now this was the first announcement on Mars Aurora on the 15/2/2013 when they announced the farm in with Marmota Energy
At the combined Mars-Aurora Tank Prospect, key target zones include a dominant, shallow northeast trending magnetic anomaly which is likely to host significant magnetite mineralisation, and its eastern margin which is defined by a 1,700m long zone of anomalous gold in calcite. Challenger gold mine was discovered via calcrete sampling and this report from 27/8/2014 stated that
- Mars Aurora Tank drill hole 14AT001 will test a strong chargeability anomaly possibly associated with highly anomalous surface gold geochemistry and the result for this was and this was reported instead
Hole 14AT002 targeted a dense body to the south of the Mars Aurora Tank Prospect and intersected intensely sheared mafic and granitic rocks showing evidence of multiple episodes of alteration resulting in development of chlorite, strong carbonate veining and sericitisation. This type of alteration is commonly associated with the development of economic gold and copper mineralisation in the Gawler Craton.
Previous drilling at MAT intersected 2 – 3 g/t Au across a number of holes. The combination of the Apollo result with the historic calcrete gold related intersections bodes well for the potential definition of a significant gold system at Mars Aurora Tank.
- The thing is only 2 holes were initially planned for Mars aurora however they did drill a third one. The first hole from Mars Aurora was meant to test a strong chargeability anomaly possibly associated with highly anomalous surface gold geochemistry but the results for this was not reported either however they have now decided to do a 35 hole drill programme at Mars Aurora which provides hope, Lets hope they get it right this time round, I would love to see a discovery from these guys. The developments are on going lets see what happens.
