Fabulous information a susual. Perhaps you are suggesting the following scenario:
AOE rejects S/P offer
AOE makes a bid for BOW
Someone else like BG bid for AOE (+-BOW)
S/P raise their bid above BG's
Drags on for months like PES
AOE gets control of BOW
S/P buy the lot!
Just a bit of fun! Oh yeah .. and ESG get taken out by a Santos/Petronas joint bid.
