Stopping sales in that market, if they are loss making may curtail the losses. However they stated that Dec '12 half yr sales in Brazil were only down 4.6% compared to the previous yr. If they are to continue to operate in Brazil we would have to assume that future sales from cheaper product coming from the "new" offshore packaging plant will replace them.
It certainly is possible that they raised prices and as a result lost market share, to make a larger profit margin per unit in Brazil. That however doesn't seem a great long term strategy for this arm of the business.
I certainly would appreciate more detail from SDI on how they intend to turn around this loss making arm.
