Generally targets are set ambitiously and often at times are 'stretch targets', which means if conditions were perfectly favourable. So the market doesn't take this very seriously.

Guidances are usually provided based on financial forecasting which most commonly is completed by extended the run rate from year to date (with some slight amendments). This is considered more accurate by the market - hence the re-weighting.

Still they boshed it.
