Perth-based ship builder, Austal, is very busy at the moment. It has gained acontract worth up to $A82 million to build four catamarans to be used aspassenger ferries between Hong Kong and a casino in Macau. The same companyasked Austal to build 10 similar catamarans in 2006 in a $A200 million deal.Earlier, it emerged that the US Navy will pay Austal $US33 million ($A37.4million) to help Austal develop its manufacturing facilities in the US. Austalis part of a consortium bidding for a lucrative US Navy contract. Austal isconfident that it has a bright future in the US. On 29 January 2008, shares inAustal closed at $A2.15
