This is factually incorrect.​

Pointerra are far more advanced than many investors realise.

In response to your post, I reached out to 3DP with a query.

Following is the reply, with thanks.

"From an asset management perspective, point clouds are very often the source of high-fidelity data from which questions are answered (analytics) or derived (simplified 3D CAD models and even a 2D version) datasets produced, with the latter happening because people haven’t been been able to easily work in the full, high-fidelity 3D point cloud.

"Pointerra has changed that, but we haven’t stopped there. We allow people to host the derived datasets in our platform, to analyze their data (to answer their specific questions) and do it at a scale and speed that is unprecedented.

"That is our core value proposition - shorten up workflow and provide answers (actionable information) to various asset management questions faster and easier than has been possible.

"Of course the workflow problems vary tremendously depending on whether the customer is in the capture space (creating 3D point cloud datasets and derived 2D/3D products) or the asset management space (AEC sector, civil infrastructure sector, mining/oil & gas sector, defence sector) and we are finding that our platform delivers different benefits to different users depending on where they operate.

"If there was a core theme here it would however be that we allow them to do what they already do faster and more efficiently and that is the driver of value.
