This is just over ambition in the policy realm plain and simple. Yes it would be nice if you could say let's have a carbon free pollution free world, and by having really high gas prices you do incentivise green energy.

Unfortunately the poor dissproptinately pay the inflated costs as disposable income is reduced to a much greater extent.

Meanwhile in other states coal is still being extracted and exported. And if you start talking about importing the gas from elsewhere into Victoria what sort of environmental saving are you really making on conventional extraction?

Im all for green energy and at some stage in the future we might no longer need hydrocarbons.

But until then we are still using coal.

If the Victorian government want to make a statement on green energy they should open their own personal accounts in order to show the public their own personal investments in disproportiantely risky green energy solutions.

I'll listen to Elon Musk all day long. Am I sometimes skeptical?? Sure, but at the end of the day it's his big old kahunas sitting on the table. Gotta respect that.

Now this may be bordering on insensitive but perhaps DHR would be a good energy investment for Vic state government members . Buy for the lithium, profit from the back flip.. It would be completly illegal and probably on the balance immoral.

But when have they let that stop them in past eh???
