Interesting as the old ceylon was the preferred trade route before things were re-routed. With the re-alignment to Asia, is SL positioning as Maaza rightly pointed out a hub in trade and security. Sri lanka has always had the minerals (also some seriously good coconuts). The difference is in the mineral requirement and function - graphite.
Recently read the foreign debt fell to a record low in SL. If we can get thru these political headwinds, the investment scenario will be de-risked as currently huge political emphasis on reducing corruption.
