Actual fracking kick off is on target for next Wed/Thurs (8th or 9th).
Trucks/equipment on site now and setting up/testing with no issues to report. The pump testing I mentioned two weeks back went well so all good in that regard as well.
Had some discussion, re. media sentiment on fracking in general and some of the issues that have played out with other companies.........
Flow rates aside, and given the early adopter play here in OZ, BPT comprehend the importance of an environmentally sound project and are opting to pay more for U.S sourced string casing/piping, etc as opposed to the cheaper (in both respects) Indian sourced options that some overseas companies have chosen and are now having issues with.
I find it comforting that they understand the worlds best flow rates won't mean diddly if there are environmental issues.
With regards to expectations and whilst we all have to wait and see, they do seem supremely confident, specifically due to:
a) The relative thickness, which enables them a lot of scope to ascertain the best zone whilst being able to stay within the containment of the REM (no leakage!!!). Read this again as it is VERY important!!!!
b) The techies are loving the .72 psi/ft overpressure!
c) Distance to water!
Obviously an announcement will be made on fracking day and some detail will likely be released about the technical/material choices they are adopting for this leg of the project.
Very exciting times for ADE/BPT!!!
