District Court of Western Australia judge Robert Mazza has imposed a suspended prison sentence on Tony Rechner. The ex-chair of mining group Eagle Bay Resources was convicted by a jury of making misleading statements in September2003 about a gold discovery. Mazza warned other company directors to take noteof the case, before handing down the 16-month prison term and asking for a surety of $A50,000 that will be forfeit if Rechner commits a similar offenceduring that period
