“Here’s to bull markets making us all geniuses again” was the final toast in that video uttered by the young bird. Not a mantra I’d want to hear from any mining CEO.
That whole argument is 5 years old and I’m amazed they are still talking about it. The good gold companies stoppped talking and started acting years ago. Many gold companies learned the lesson the hard way at the end of the last gold bull market and have been implementing long view, over the horizon, low cost/high value strategies for years now. There is still time to get in on a few of these great future stories, you’ve just got to know where to look.
We are not at the bottom of the cycle. The bottom has been and gone and the good gold companies have survived, adapted and grown. The bad companies failed and are failing. The institutional investors, investing “other peoples money” in BDR just don’t know when to call it quits. BDR has gone past being a beta gold stock, it is now following a downward and inward spiralling trajectory with no escape IMO. The beta waves are getting smaller and smaller along with the share price. Esh
