CBD Energy Ltd will supply $3 million worth of solar modules and energy efficient equipment to Planet Power, and secured a right to acquire 51% of Planet's shares by May 2012.

The equipments will be supplied via the company's subsidiary Capacitor Technologies.

Planet Power plans to open another 20 stores from a current eight stores by June 2010, with a view to extend to 45 stories throughout Australia by June 2011.

Planet Power's chairman John Walker was most recently managing director of Thrifty Car Rental. Planet Power's CEO Craig Martin has over 15 years experience in solar hot water and renewable energy, and was previously national sales and marketing manager for SolCo Ltd in Perth.
