I think the fall was because China reopened its market for Norwegian Salmon.
Before 2011, Norwegian Salmon took 92% of Chinese market.
In 2011, the Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided to award the Nobel Peace Prize 2010 to Liu Xiaobo who was a Chinese human right activist. Since then, Chinese government has banned Norwegian Salmon, Norwegian Salmon market share dropped to 20%.
Between 2011 to 2017, China imported most of its salmon from Chili, Faroe Islands, Canada and Australia. Australia was a new player in Chinese Salmon market, but its market share rise rapidly.
In Aug 2017, both China and Norway agreed to trade Salmon again.
I think market is worrying about the over-supply from Norway will destroy Tassal's Chinese market.
In domestic market, Tassal is still under the pressure from both politic issue and environmental issue.
