27 November 2008 ASX ANNOUNCEMENT TRANSFIELD SERVICES ANNOUNCES NEW CONTRACTS TOTALLING CIRCA $300 MILLION New five year $170 million contract with Jemena to maintain electrical distribution network Two year contract extension with Sydney Water worth up to $70 million Two year contract extension with Sydney Catchment Authority New two year contract with Shell Canada valued at approximately C$50 million to provide turnaround management and execution services in Edmonton, Canada. Transfield Services has been named as preferred contractor for a new five-year $170 million contract to maintain the electrical distribution network for Jemena Electricity Network (JEN) and United Energy Distribution (UED) in Victoria. The contract includes 24-hour maintenance, customer connection services and metering, overhead line maintenance, capital works and high and low voltage services. This will ensure the reliable supply of power to more than one million of Jemena’s customers. Transfield Services’ Chief Executive Officer Australia, Mr Bruce James, said today: “This contract builds on our proven capability to provide asset management, maintenance and capital works to more than 134,000 kilometres of electrical distribution networks across Australia and New Zealand, totalling approximately $260 million each year.” Transfield Services will commence work on 1 January 2009. Transfield Services has been awarded a contract extension with Sydney Water worth up to $70 million, building on an 11-year relationship. In addition to the base maintenance contract, Transfield Services delivered a $32 million program of capital works, renewing Sydney Water assets - water treatment plants, pump stations and water filtration plants. Transfield Services has been awarded a contract extension with Sydney Catchment Authority. Transfield Services will continue to provide asset management, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation services to more than 40 per cent of Sydney Water’s assets. Transfield Services will continue to maintain 21 dam sites and related infrastructure and provide storage and delivery services for approximately 60 per cent of New South Wales raw water. Transfield Services’ joint venture, Flint Transfield Services (FT Services) recently announced a new two-year contract with Shell Canada Limited valued at approximately C$50 million. The contract will provide turnaround management and execution services for Shell Canada Limited at the Scotford Complex, Fort Saskatchewan near Edmonton, Canada. FT Services will work collaboratively with Shell in a performance based alliance-style contract with mutually agreed key performance indicators aligned to Shell’s business objectives.
