With the greatest of respect Antman your previous post is pretty much dribble. The reason a wiper trip was performed was probably for hole cleaning purposes or purely precautionary. When you drill a well of this type it is preferable to get as little gas or oil into the well bore as possible ,in fact the ideal situation is for the only gas in the mud being from the cuttings produced by drilling, the gas in the formation should be held back by the hydrostatic pressure produced by the mud column. The units of gas measurement is mainly so that the drill crew can see trends and apply well control measures , so if the well has been planned properly I would not expect to see anything but elevated background gas. EPR appear to think the same or they would not log as this is a very expensive operation. Its not over yet,if they rig up to run casing ,open a beer.
