I have downloaded Carrapateena`s CAR 02`s drill core assays and photos and have been comparing them to MOX`s core photos and announcements for the past few weeks.
I am unclear about the zones mentioned in their recent Quarterly report. They appear ambiguous. They talk about a similar sequence of alteration in the basement of the first 3 holes:
1.THE TOP: Volcanic blanket layer
2.THE WEATHERED ZONE: stated that there is a 50m -100m supergene weathered zone.
Does this zone start from the top of the basement or from the bottom of the Volcanic blanket?....I presume it starts from under the volcanic blanket.
How much of this zone comprises SUPERGENE ENRICHMENT? The whole lot ?? Why no chalcocite in this zone on visualised cores?
I note with interest that CAR 02 has an Upper ``Bornite Zone`` of 73m @ 2.9% Cu. ??? a similar zone to MOX`S supergene weathered zone and also with no chalcocite.
I suspect MOX`s beautiful photos came from this supergene zone. And Mox`s photos look better than Carrapateena`s photos from it`s` upper zone.
3.TRANSITIONAL ZONE: under the weathered zone containing primary remnant sulphides...bornite and chalcopyrite.
From my beginers geology reading the supergene zone should be called the transitional zone and this lower zone should be called the Primary Orebody zone!!! This zone should be less mineralised than the supergene zone.
But as it contains variable visible bornite and chalcopyrite throughout this zone in all 3 holes, it should outshine CAR 02`s lower zone results.
Overall, still hoping MOX`s first 3 drill core assays will be better than Carrapateena`s CAR02 (173m 1.83% Cu & 0.6g/t Au)
If so, interesting to note that Carrapateena`s CAR 02`s Cu grades are better than the average Cu grades at Olympic Dam.
Also interesting that MOX has 3 mineralised holes with similar basement characteristics spanning 3.8 km of the same (Groundhog) gravity trend, with more of this trend still to test. Olympic Dam is about 4 km long but it is probably wider and deeper than Groundhog(for now at least) and it is shallower.
i.e if the assays come in better than Carrapateena, this is most likely a HUGE orebody!!!
Not many shares on offer.
Fingers crossed.
Please note I am not a geo...I would like someone with a lot more geo knowledge than me to comment about MOX`s Quarterly report and/or my comments
