I've just been doing comparisons and I agree in some respects.
the Kidd creek mine in timmins (canada) is 6.5% zn and 2.3% Cu (~12% Zn) and it extends to 3000m below surface as the worlds deepest mine.
The issue with deep mining is the development capex, which is difficult to raise in the current environment and justify with an NPV.
I've just been doing comparisons and I agree in some respects....
