I will admit I’m not on top of coal seam gas. In WA we have no shallow coal seam gas and only one coal mine at Collie.
The recent rise and rise of GAS doesn’t make much sense to me.
In the day I bought some Arrow (AOE) about 20 cents because every well they drilled found gas. But I soon sold them as the gas flow rates were so low. Kinda missed the $8 takeover by a mile.
Oil companies sort of have to become drilling companies to deal with the shale boom in the Us and Canada. All this anti fracking mania in Australia could mean the expertise is not going to exist in Australia.
WBE’s recent drill demonstrated just how expert the North Americans are at horizontals and fracking. Rex was a 1.2 km horizonal, a company nearby is trialing 1.5 mile horizontals and finding them to be 30% more economic.
