Mobilicom scoops up contract with US ground robotics company

Emerging technology company Mobilicom (ASX: MOB) has continued its sales momentum after scooping up a new sales contract with an undisclosed US ground robotics company, which includes an initial $200,000 purchase order.
The robotics company’s name remains undisclosed due to its involvement in confidential US government operations.
However, the underground robotics company has been operating for more than 25 years and is a unique designer within the industry and has created solutions for multiple markets including US homeland security, mining, oil and gas, aerospace, maritime, petrochemical, public safety and construction.
The company’s robotics can perform highly complex tasks – particularly, in situations where human safety may be at risk.
As a result of this latest purchase order, Mobilicom’s MCU-30 Lite technology was selected to integrate into one of the US company’s robotics solutions.
Mobilicom has combined its MCU-30 Lite product with its 4G and Mobile MESH Network technologies to create an IP communications unit. The communications unit can deliver ad-hoc direct wireless mobile communication without any infrastructure.
The unit’s relay capabilities mean HD video, data and VoIP can be communicated in underground and in-building operations.
“The purchase of Mobilicom’s MCU-30 Lite units by a unique and innovative robotics industry player highlights the broad capabilities and growing interest in Mobilicom’s cutting-edge technology,” Mobilicom chief executive officer Oren Elkayam said.
“Not only is the purchase order a vote of confidence in Mobilicom’s technology, but it significantly expands Mobilicom’s international reach,” Mr Elkayam added.
To-date, Mobilicom has delivered many MCU-30 Lite systems and it anticipates it will receive more sales orders for the technology throughout 2019.
Mr Elkayam said that to meet the anticipated growing demand, the company expects to increase commercial production of the MCU-30 Lite units.
This latest contract continues Mobilicom’s sales momentum throughout the year to multiple clients including Fortune 500 stock General Electric Company, oil and gas giant ExxonMobil and leading French land defence business Nexter Robotics.
Mobilicom has now completed initial sales of its MCU and SkyHopper products to General Electric and deployed hardware units to ExxonMobil worth more than $100,000.
