If we're being real, there's no evidence to suggest that a zero cobalt battery could become commercially viable in the next five years. Articles posted by a website named 'cleantechnica' is bound to put a idealistic spin on it, but there are still quite a few years ahead before it's adopted by the greater market, seeing as there are varying concerns for safety and life cycle. The visionaries who would like to see a zero cobalt battery still need to turn a profit until that happens, they can pump their R&D departments full of cash in the hopes they'll reduce the presence and perhaps eventually remove it completely, but until then they'll keep buying and consuming. Here's an article posted a few days after the cleantechnica report - https://www.reuters.com/article/us-panasonic-cobalt/after-cobalt-free-pledge-panasonic-to-triple-consumption-for-auto-batteries-sources-idUSKBN1JA26K
As I've said before, in terms of a junior progressing, WFE has done extraordinarily well, in comparison to a large number of other companies. What I'd give to get an announcement from some of the specs I hold... and they're all actively trading. I'm also irked by the various posters that only have good things to say about WFE. I think it's naive to approach any company with large hopeful eyes and projections of great success. You should experience some level of concern one way or another, that's critical thinking at play and it's a necessary tool to possess if you wish to succeed in this vocation. In the same way, I find it tiring to read the serial posts from the same people claiming to be realists or a counter to rampers. You're all the same to me, up rampers post unsubstantiated projections and their counters post progressively ambiguous questions regarding information that simply hasn't been released yet, always posing the question in a manner, tone, or orientation that would indicate it's a looming threat that could topple the house of cards. All I see is a company that's taken drastic steps to advance in the last year and appears to be continuing the trend. For all the zealous posts and hours of time dedicated to posting on this thread to either encourage or dissuade people, you've achieved very little, while the company continues to achieve the goals set out prior, as we all sit on our hands unable to do a thing. I mean, we're here arguing over cobalt prices, supply/demand, trends, like we're an authority on the matter when all we're doing is copy and pasting links, of which there are numerous and of varying opinions. If anyone here was smart enough to confidently spot trends years in advance, they certainly wouldn't be squabbling on this thread. I think a few folks here need an ego check and a hobby.
Regards, Vic.
