I dont think you can read into that decision too much as it was only made after they tried to free up the drillbit/ string by blasting it three times, when that failed they moved to plan B, ie: sidetrack the hole.

I hope as much as the next bloke that the wireline results come back positive, but on the decision to sidetrack I think it's just the way the exploration game works: throw as much cash at the problem to achieve a result as required.

I'm just glad we haven't footed the bill so far!!
And as for our commitments from this point forward, they are quite minimal when the total cost of this well are taken into account.
GA's farmout skills have come from sitting at the table a great number of times and this shows when mishaps like the need to sidetrack happen and our unexpected expenditure capped.

Hopefully some good news from Winchester or Palta (or both!) soon.
