I was in Christchurch at the time of the earthquakes. 5 minutes before the first one (at 4.25am if I remember correctly) I was peacefully asleep in bed. Then I was on my feet wondering if the building would fall on me. Who would have said at 4.20 that a major earthquake was near term? But it was.
