The main difference is that by partaking in the SPP, your funds go directly to WBT (ie. through the "Primary Market") .. that's the "point" of the SPP, obviously from WBT's point of view.
Where as buying on market is the "Secondary Market" & no a penny goes to WBT.. just to another punter on the other side of the transaction.
