Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying here, but I feel like you are underplaying the significance of AI and compute applications. I see it as having multiple implications for the potential commercial success of weebit:Apart from storage, all of this is a fair way in the future. Nevertheless, being a speculative stock, the share price represents essentially a market estimate of future potential. It is like the share price at any given moment is the average of every participating investor's best guess of what this could be worth, and in how long. If every investor fully understood the implications of the partnerships being made I think the market cap would be somewhere north of where it is today. So, to my thinking, there is a degree of "ignorance discount" baked into the current valuation of weebit. I don't think a spec in the mining field with equivalent risk and equivalent range of revenue or takeover potential would be trading with a $40 million market cap - because digging stuff out of the ground and selling it is something most people think they can readily wrap their head around and slap a value on.
- there are several players at advanced stages of development of new-generation memories (e.g., panasonic, crossbar, 4DS, adesto, ...). Doesn't have to be a winner-takes-all scenario with respect to who is successful in future storage applications, but it could be. This is a significant risk to investors in weebit: we know the product works, but who knows if it will gain significant commercial traction?
- for every additional application beyond storage, that risk is reduced - it is creating other markets in which weebit can find commercial traction.
- assuming weebit is highly commercially successful for storage, the amount of revenue potential from storage alone vs storage + AI + compute applications is potentially enormous.
