Your logic runs along the lines of Switzerland makes lots of cheese. Novartis and other drug companies are based in Switzerland, therefore cheese will cure cancer. Too many flying leaps of faith without a net for mine.
They are not narrowing in on the AI market, its an area of potential use, as is computational offload.
This is not where the real money is though. It is in replacing Flash. Whom gets that wins the El Gordo.
Rather than narrow the market, which your post implies, these current announcements are aimed at broadening the market.
Agree completely on your last sentence though, definitely exciting times for us all.
