After doing abit if reading, I agree with you. They are not trying to compete with others in regards to deploying wechat throught regions. They are trying to implement loyalty software into wechat wherever they can, South-East Asia focus for now as the bulk of their revenue will be based off transaction fee %’s (plus other areas as well) but that will only benefit from companies like those in East Aus trying to get others to use wechat in their business.
I think this company can secure a good future if they prove their loyalty program can increase profits and retain customers. Revenues will be large as they would scale will consumer size and platform diversity.
In saying that, it may be some time until viable proof of loyalty can be appreciated by Wechat, let alone Tencent and other tech giants.
