AWE managing director David Biggs .. said the gas sales contract under negotiation for the Waitsia project involves "very large licks of load" to be sold to a "very sophisticated" buyer.
A deal should be agreed this December half ahead of an end-year target for a final investment decision on the project, he said.
RBC Capital Markets .. noted that the investment case for AWE was more around the Waitsia venture and opportunities to re-contract gas from east coast fields at higher prices.
