Think about it. Better for MEO if a major drills, but why so for CUE? who already have MEO carrying them. CUE has already done it's risk management. It is MEO that NEEDs derisking.
Also you need to think about just how you are proposing that Petrochina are conspiring to win, without winning through CUE, because if they are winning through CUE I am very happy as a CUE holder.
Tweedle is the lawyer, Todds are known to stand up for themselves, I suspect MEO/partner were trying to pull a swiftee and were caught. But hey, much easier to blame the Chinese without a shred of supporting evidence.
