Being able to take a mobile or landline call in a an app like Skype or what ever and making a call has been around for years, I think Apple have been well behind there for ages and are now playing catch up.
This is my take on where Oper8tor would be useful to me (I can imagine there are people (many?) in the world where this functionality is of no interest and won't be life changing, my commentary is only on my world and my reality).
I run a number of businesses (internationally), one in hard traded goods, food import/export, retail/wholesale and another an international consulting business. Here is a list of four of my biggest annoyances that I think Oper8tor might just solve for me, I have a lot of small ones that Oper8tor might solve too.
i) Often I'm on a mobile call, I arrive on site (big tin shed factory with awful mobile reception inside, but brilliant WiFi). Going inside I have to hang up from talking on my mobile and redial and continue the call on Skype or Whatsapp. [Oper8tor would allow the call to seamlessly switch over from the mobile line to WiFi data call]
ii) My team are all around the world and everyone uses a different platform, the Brazilians like Viber, the Australians don't use much at all except regular mobile, Europeans Whatsapp/Skype, Americans Skype. Drives me crazy trying to figure out 1st who I'm calling, then choose a mode of calling [Oper8tor would give me one interface to make the call to who ever via whatever platform]
iii) Getting conferencing together is a hassle, need to get everyone from the team together on one platform (Skype) before scheduling a call. This is not to bad for the team as I get them organised and set up once, but then might throw a client into the mx and then have to adjust to their platform (and their corporate firewalls may not let everything work) [Oper8tor would make this a breeze running across platforms]
iv) Sometimes I want to contact someone and to go through a process of calling multiple numbers (and leaving messages). 1st call the office phone, next the mobile, try home, the a web phone (Skype, Messenger or Whatsapp) [Oper8tor's call blast (it's not really that annoying, web-phones simultaneously ring on phone, tablet, laptop, desktop already, no one complained about that), it would allow me to make one call and the receiver chooses what mode/device to pick up on]
