Yes Jon, Burwill and Weier from there offices in Hong Kong are astonished by how much it costs to ramp up a plant, they simply can't wrap there head around it, you say.
Meanwhile you have it all nailed down from your living room in Rockingham.
Based on your theories, It must also be considered nothing less than an absolute miracle GXY could produce 200 ktpa of spodumene from a 1.6 mtpa plant with mid 50% recoveries @1.17%. Even though the A40 target is 2.2 mtpa (40% more) throughput with recoveries targeting mid 70s or better (40% more) at approx 1% (10-15% less) won't be able to give it a good crack to produce towards 300 ktpa.
Your fooling nobody and anybody that you are fooling deserves to be fooled.
Hi Bossman. No, it was not a miracle. Their processing plant is bigger than Bald Hill's. At the peak of their production, they were producing about 17kt per month, or 204 kt per annum. I don't think anybody was surprised at these numbers. If Bald Hill is to produce 300 kt per annum, as is the current target, they will have to feed 1.8 million tonnnes per annum to the DMS (rough numbers at approximately 1% Li20) To get 1.8 million tonnes to the DMS, they will have to mine 18 million tonnes of ore, of which 16.2 million tonnes goes to waste dump (that is at a 9:1 strip ratio). I'm not saying it will be a miracle I'm just saying tap me on the shoulder when it happens.
