I saw that announcement the other day for the NZSE listed stock with the same VIL ticker which said that management had decided to invest in a butcher business. I thought to myself, "why am I not completely surprised that VIL management would do something like this", and that was after I realised the announcement was for the other VIL.

You have been too kind to them. The word "poorly" downplays their achievements. Any of us could have gone down the casino with shareholder funds and had we rolled the dice as many times as there guys have, we would surely have one at least a couple of times.

This latest announcement is surely one of the most insulting in a long line of aweful announcements to shareholders. After telling the market how keen they were to move forward to FP and how they needed more money to do it, they now have some more money and what do they do?

"Verus investments Limited (Verus) is pleased to announce that it is actively reviewing Investment opportunities in the resources sector – primarily mining and oil and gas. Once the board has completed its selection, review and due diligence of the most suitable investment, the project will be secured and the market will be duly informed."

Yep, thats right. They are once again going to use their tried and true skills of picking winners to make a selection. Reads like they are going over the form guide for the dogs doesn't it? For most of us investing in a grayhound would have proved much cheaper I suspect. Of the two dogs, at least the grayhound respects the hand that feeds it.

100% price increase on that announcement Zack. You still have me laughing. So thanks. I'll never get my money back from VIL but at least I got a laugh out of it.
