I am a little surprised, but it's not unknown. First one I've seen in the Bryah, which is mostly volcanics with only a few small gabbros here and there. Proterozoic is just as prospective for Fe-Ti-V as Archaean, if not moreso; eg, a lot of the Canadian examples are 2Ga, and then there's the whole of the Musgraves at 1Ga, which has metric buttloads of magnetite. But, goes to show, you never know.
The Robinson Range Fe is sediments. Not really associated.
For a comparison of the options around in the Fe-ti-V sphere, look up KRC's Speewah resource, which is pretty much the same grade as this one, except it's 8 billion tonnes.
