    That would only be an advantage if demand for batteries wasn't increasing exponentially like it is though. Increasing demand = demand for new factories (for example, there are currently at least 10 new 'Gigafactories' being planned by various companies https://goo.gl/Et8w8F)

    If I'm building a new factory, I don't care how easy it is to integrate into existing processes, because I'm starting from scratch. I want the best & most economical technology available for a greenfield site.

    I'm not negative on UTR (haven't done enough research yet), but it's just something to think about wrt the manufacturing process.
