Apparently Daimler is pretty confident the technology have a future though, to fund StoreDot with 60 million dollars. It is also developing its own battery storage factory called OneGiga.
Should the number of cycles be enough to commercialise it, they might be behind UTR to bring it to market, but once they do, 5 minutes charging opposed to 15, make the whole difference (given parity of other conditions).
