Hi Pickmeamonkey, it would also be interesting to know when that analysis was done. Here is a five year chart of cobalt prices, they have been crashing back to earth recently, so an analysis done at time of peak prices may be considerably different than a cost ananlysis done today.

It would also be interesting to know what they were comparing against, was it the current batteries in use at the time or was it the batteries the big boys like Panasonic will be rolling out in the next few years (which is what the C4V batteries will actually need to compete with).
Here is an interesting article which also has a nice graph on where battery costs are expected to be, for those actually interested.
"When the first mass-market EVs were introduced in 2010, their battery packs cost an estimated $1,000 per kilowatt-hour (kWh). Today, Tesla's Model 3 battery pack costs $190 per kWh, and General Motors’ 2017 Chevrolet Bolt battery pack is estimated to cost about $205 per kWh. That's a drop of more than 70% in the price per kWh in 6 years!"

So battery prices seem to be dropping rapidly, so would be very interested when the analysis quoted by @Riskon22 was actually done and whether there is $ per kWh figure available anywhere so that we can compare it to the current prices and plot it on that graph of where prices are expected to fall to by the time NY is expected to be producing.
Are they still competitive?
Thanks
