I don't know if you've seen my post on the Champion Gniess gold deposit in India below. It seems similar to me. It is shear hosted but also contains a lot of chalcophile minerals. The biggest deposit is hosted in gneiss but satellite deposits also occur in mafic rocks where high grades of gold occur in association with Galena (Pb). The gold occurs in ductile shear zones over a length of 3km but the mineralised shears are only those that have near parallel relationships to the foliation of the country rocks. At this deposit the acid porphyries within and close to the mineralised shear zones and the hydrothermal alteration of the host rocks point towards an acid magmatic source for the ore fluids. Have a read. I think there are many similarities. If they are similar styles it is good news for potential repeats but the overall gold endowment is not huge. Big enough to help make the company but not big enough for us to be retiring to Bermuda in style.Esh
