The share price, whatever it may be from one day/week to the next, has no bearing on the worth of the company. It is merely a sentiment vote, and one by the way, that can change direction like a flag in the breeze
Also, in this case the gluttony of the US housing market is a poor metaphor for asset valuations, in that, it was a product of a larger excess. The bank lending fiasco
