Well I find your comments very timely and largely correct. I do my grocery shop at our shopping town. I have a choice of Woolworths or Coles within 200 meters of one another. Now keep in mind I'm a WOW shareholder, and I mean $500000 in my super!! Its the last place I will shop preferring to shop at Coles. Better store layout, better range, fresher produce, better trolleys! Just an all round more pleasant experience. I sat down recently with the Woolworths store manager over a coffee right outside his supermarket and explained what I thought was wrong with the business. Several staff standing around talking and laughing, under stocked or empty shelves, restocking trolleys in the middle of isles just lots of small things that all add up to annoying customers. I pointed out to him that the green grocer next to Woolworths was completely packed with shoppers eager to buy his well presented produce over the supermarket offering!
Look quite frankly he just didn't get it!!
There's the problem!!
